Dr. Veronica Garvia is an Assistant Professor of Critical Care Medicine. She earned her medical degree from Central University of Venezuela in 2013, followed by Internal Medicine residency in 2019 at Einstein Medical Center. She completed a critical care fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh in 2021. Dr. Garvia's clinical focus is within the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit at Presbyterian. In the realm of education, she instructs the CCM 5430 senior elective in Critical Care Medicine and Adult Inpatient Medicine Clerkship (AIMC 5322), both recognized for their emphasis on early critical illness recognition and resuscitation training through simulation-based methods. She also holds the position of Unit-Based Education Co-Director, with her focus centered on multidisciplinary education, particularly emphasizing low-frequency, high-risk events, and extracorporeal life support techniques.
