Our annual MCTTP Basics Point-of-Care Ultrasound Workshop was held on September 7th. After working through a series of online didactics, our adult and pediatric critical care fellows have the opportunity to practice and hone their POCUS skills on live standardized patients. Through several stations that focus on various body systems, fellows receive formative feedback from ultrasound experts on their image acquisition techniques and are able to test their diagnostic skills by working through practice cases that highlight different disease states and pathology.

We had 25 participants for the basic workshop, which is followed by another workshop in the spring focusing on advanced techniques such as LV function, diastology, and transesophageal echocardiography.
