Since its inception, a prime directive of the systems medicine program has been to nurture and mentor trainees originating from various disciplines, such as mathematics, computer sciences, industrial engineering, chemical engineering, computational biology, and medicine into transdisciplinary scientists that can understand and bridge the cultural differences across these discipline. We therefore welcome inquiries from trainees of all relevant disciplines at the graduate or post-graduate levels seeking transdisciplinary training. We have also regularly mentored undergraduate and summer students. Graduated trainees have moved on to faculty positions in classical primary departments, industry, or post-doctoral positions. In all cases though, their outlook on research has expanded and believe these young men and women will be ambassadors of the new science of systems medicine.
