PICU Receives Generous Proceeds from Scarnati / Cawley 100 Ride for Children's Hospitals

Sat, 09/17/2011

The Ride for Children's Hospitals was established three years ago by Pennsylvania State Senator Joe Scarnati. This year, the ride was co-hosted by Lieutenant Governor Jim Cawley, with the $209,550 proceeds split between the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Senator Scarnati has requested that half of these generous proceeds benefit the PICU at CHP, for deep personal reasons. Past gifts have established a PICU Family Support Center and multi-media family-centered educational materials, and development of ICU bedside simulation for training and safety.
