On October 1st, at the 11th annual Neurocritical Care Society (NCS) meeting in Philadelphia, the first class of Fellow of Neurocritical Care Society members were presented.
Of 31 applicants, 23 met the stringent criteria outlined for the Fellow of Neurocritical Care Society (FNCS) program. Dr. Lori Shutter, of the University of Pittsburgh Department of Critical Care Medicine was one of the first 23 to ever receive this honor.
The NCS offered this program for the first time this year, and denotes "letters" to recognize exceptional service, academic excellence and leadership in the field of neurocritical care. The program's official title is the Fellow of Neurocritical Care Society (FNCS).
