Douglas B. White, MD selected to serve on Societal and Ethical Issues in Research Study Section

Douglas B. White, M.D., M.A.S., UPMC Endowed Chair for Ethics in Critical Care Medicine, Associate Professor of Critical Care Medicine, School of Medicine, and Director, Program on Ethics and Decision Making in Critical Illness, Pitt’s Center for Bioethics and Health Law, recently was selected to serve as a member of the Societal and Ethical Issues in Research Study Section of the Center for Scientific Review of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

NIH Study Section appointments demonstrate competence and achievement in ethical disciplines as evidenced by the quality of research accomplishments, publications in scientific journals, as well as other scientific achievements and honors received.

Dr. White will serve in this role until June 30, 2017.  His appointment was also acknowledged in the University of Pittsburghs Awards and Accoldates press release.
