Dennis Simon, MD, has been named Associate Program Director of the Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellowship (PCCM) Program. Simon completed his pediatric residency and chief residency at the Boston Combined Residency Program before entering the PCCM fellowship program at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. He was an NIH T32 scholar at the Safar Center for Resuscitation Research until July 2015, when he was hired as an Assistant Professor in the Pediatric Division of the Department of Critical Care Medicine.
Simon is a highly decorated educator, having received the Senior Resident Teaching Award at Boston Children’s Hospital in 2009, the Medical Student’s Faculty Teaching Award at Harvard Medical School in 2011, and the Fellow of the Year at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in 2013. He has also achieved several academic recognitions, including the In-Training Award from the Society of Critical Care Medicine in 2014 and the Nancy Caroline Fellowship Award from the Safar Center in 2015.
