The Department held graduation ceremonies for trainees on June 8, 2013 at the University Club. Cocktails and dinner were enjoyed prior to the graduation ceremony.
The graduation ceremonies began with the adult Multidisciplinary Critical Care Training Program graduating 10 two-year internal medicine fellows, 3 one-year internal medicine fellows, 4 surgeons and 4 anesthesiologist fellows. The Pediatric Critical Care Medicine (PCCM) Fellowship followed and graduated 5 PCCM and 1 Cardiac Critical Care fellows.
Several awards were also presented during the ceremony. The Medical Student Teacher of the Year Award was presented to Frank Lodeserto. The Adult Fellow of the Year Award was presented to Jonathon Elmer and the Adult Critical Care Chief Fellow Award was presented to Christopher Schott. Adult Faculty of the Year Award was presented to Lori Shutter while the Pediatric Faculty of the Year Award was presented to Raj Aneja. The Pediactric Critical Care Chief Fellow Award was presented to Nikki Miller Ferguson.
After the presentation of the certificates and awards, Frank Lodeserto presented the Adult Program Directors and Adminstration with gifts of appreciation admist a humourous presentation. The evening closed with the adult and pediatric fellows presenting their videos which hit the mark in both hilarity and remininscence of their time here at Pitt with the faculty and fellows.
