Christopher Schott, Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine and Critical Care Medicine, was chosen by the graduating class of Pitt Med students as the 2015 Golden Apple awardee.
This prestigious teaching award recognizes an educator who had the most significant impact on the 4th year medical students. The nomination and voting process is run by the Scope and Scalpel Society, and the award is presented each year during graduation weekend.
The Golden Apple award is a unique recognition of teaching excellence as it comes directly from the students. Sarah Severance, a fourth-year Pitt Med student, says, “We were thrilled to give this award to Dr. Schott this year for all of his work on our Critical Care elective and all of the care and effort he has put into making sure the course remains an absolute favorite elective.” Schott was one of 8 nominees for the award.
