Chief CCM Fellow Completes Saddlesore 1000

Erik Diringer, MD completes the Saddlesore 1000

In the early AM of 9/24, Chief CCM Fellow Erik Diringer, MD arose to a long day in the saddle of his Indian Chief Motorcycle. 

Overcoming unexpected mechanical difficulties and occasional adverse weather, Dr. Diringer completed the "Saddlesore 1000", a journey of 1000 miles within 24 hours.  This trek took him in a circle extending to Southern Virginia, back up to Eastern New York and back to Pittsburgh in less than 20 hours.

The Saddlesore 1000 is en endurance ride sponsored by the Iron Butt Riders Association.  Riders successfully completing the Saddlesore or Bunburner ride (1500 miles in 36 hours) receive a certificate, an Iron Butt Association pin and a plastic license plate back with our logo "Iron Butt Association - World's Toughest Riders."  The Ultimate road enduro is the 11 day, 11,000 mile, 48 State Iron Butt Rally held every two years.
