David Crippen, MD, FCCM has been invited to speak for the first Vietnam Emergency Medicine Symposium at the Hue College of Medicine, the third largest medical school in Vietnam. This project will involve 20 physicians from the US and Australia and 10 colleagues in Vietnam. The Chairperson for the Symposium will be Joseph Lex, MD of Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Crippen will speak on the topics of altered mental status and brain death.
Dr. Crippen will be returning to Vietnam for the first time since 1969 when he served in the US Army as a Field and Long Range Reconnaissance Team (LRRP) medic. The last time Dr. Crippen was in Hue, it was under fire.
