Maryann Moore, AS, RRT


Employed by Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh since June 1983. She has maintained a Leadership role within the Department as Critical Care Coordinator and Supervisor since 1988.  She assists the Director with the overall Management of the Department.  She also supervises the daily clinical operations of the Department. She is directly responsible for the Department staffing and shift to shift clinical needs. She collaborates with RN’s, physicians and others on projects and committees displaying strong teamwork abilities. She displays strength with communication skills and decision making ability. She has a strong work ethic and serves as a role model and a strong clinical resource to the staff and others  in the organization.  She has contributed greatly with time and talent to the development of the RCS department.

Study / Poster presentation

Co-investigator in a study "The Effect of an Eye Prophylaxis Protocol on the Incidence of Exposure Keratitis in the Chemically Sedated and Paralyzed Pediatric Trauma Patient". The abstract was selected for a poster presentation at UPMC Shadyside during Nurses week May/2006.  It also won for best oral abstract at the Society of Trauma Nurses Conference in April of 2008.

Committee Member for poster presentation at CHCA, (Child Health Corporation of America), meeting in San Francisco, regarding VAP, (Ventilator Associated Pneumonia): Race for Results 2nd place winner.

Awards Received

Two time winner recognized for “Excellence in Providing Care for Critically ill Children and their Families”, presented by the Faculty and Fellows of Critical Care Medicine at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.
