Dr. Seaman obtained her PhD from the University of Pittsburgh, School of Nursing, where she studied care quality outcomes and patterns of palliative care consultation among critically ill, mechanically-ventilated patients. Her research interests are in the integration of palliative care and end of life care into ICU practice. Mentored by Dr. Doug White, she is working to develop interventions to identify and address the palliative care and end-of-life care needs of critically-ill patients, especially older adults.
