Danielle Bajus, RN, MSN, ACNP-BC, CCRN

Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Neurovascular ICU

Danielle attended Shadyside Hospital School of Nursing and graduated with a Diploma in nursing in 1999. Her first job as a nurse was in the Neuroscience ICU at UPMC Shadyside. She spent approximately 8 years as a bedside nurse at Shadyside between the neuroscience and the cardio-thoracic intensive care units. She was also fortunate enough to work at UPMC Palermo in Sicily, Italy for 6 months. Upon returning from Italy, she continued her education and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from Waynesburg University. Danielle then went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Pittsburgh with a Critical Care subspecialty. Since 2007 she has been working as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. She spent time in cardiac surgery, then with the Stroke Institute before her love of the critical care environment brought her here to UPMC Presbyterian. She found the perfect career mix in her current role as an ACNP in the Neurovascular ICU where she manages the care of 20 critically ill patients on a daily basis.

Danielle has been happily married to her husband, Michael since 2005. They have two children, a daughter and a son. When she is not working or spending time with her family, she loves to golf and read fiction.
