Dr. Schott is a clinician educator within the departments of Emergency Medicine and Critical Care Medicine with specialty interests in point of care ultrasonography as well as medical education. He has completed graduate medical training in Emergency Medicine as well as Critical Care. In addition, he has pursued a Master’s of Science in Medical Education through the University of Pittsburgh. He has created a new medical school elective in point of care ultrasonography at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine serving as the course director. He also serves as co-director for the medical student elective in critical care medicine. His work in both Emergency and Critical Care Medicine allows for a better understanding of the treatment of acutely ill patients from the ED to the ICU.

After growing up in Buffalo, NY he spent three years in Virginia Beach, VA for residency training in Emergency Medicine. He now lives in Pittsburgh, PA with his wife Dana, their son Xander, daughter Layla and dog Tessa (a Maltipoo).  Outside of medicine, his hobbies include spending time with his wife and children, writing & recording his own music (playing acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, mandolin and keyboard) as well as attending concerts and rooting on the Buffalo Bills and Sabres.
